The Broadcast & Media Lead owns the live broadcast and weekly video distribution for ONE, ensuring a consistent, high-quality online experience from live service execution through post-production, YouTube delivery, and media archiving.

Responsibilities

Live Broadcast

  • Direct Sunday live broadcasts, including calling camera shots and overseeing the switching of live camera feeds.

  • Lead and support camera operators, switcher operators, and broadcast volunteers during services.

  • Monitor livestream quality and respond to broadcast issues during services.

  • Maintain consistent broadcast standards for camera composition, shot selection, pacing, and execution.

  • Coordinate with the AVL Systems Lead when technical issues affect the broadcast.

Post-Production & Media

  • Edit the weekly sermon video for YouTube and deliver the completed edit by Sunday at 9:00 PM.

  • Edit and prepare the RESI service recording for distribution.

  • Export and upload final video content to designated platforms.

  • Manage service video archives, file organization, and media storage, including Frame.io and other designated platforms.

  • Maintain consistent file naming and media organization practices.

    Volunteer Development

    • Train and develop camera, switching, and broadcast lead volunteers.

    • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to strengthen broadcast quality and volunteer confidence.

    • Lead one to two volunteer broadcast workshops per month, typically on Saturdays.

    Service & Event Preparation

    • Prepare broadcast workflows and media needs for Sunday services and special events.

    • Participate in Saturday rehearsals as needed, based on service and production requirements.

    • Support broadcast execution for special services and events, with advance notice provided whenever possible.

    • Identify opportunities to improve broadcast quality, workflow, and the overall online viewer experience.

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Blackmagic Design production equipment and live switching workflows.

  • Experience operating or directing multi-camera productions using Canon C300-series cameras.

Key Ownership

Live broadcast execution, broadcast volunteer development, YouTube video production, media archiving, and post-service video workflow.

Schedule & Availability

This is a non-exempt, hourly position. All hours actually worked, including live broadcasts, post-production, volunteer training, rehearsals, and special events, are compensated at the applicable hourly rate.

  • Sundays: Required for weekly services.

  • One weekday: Remote post-production/archiving day (specific day coordinated with supervisor).

  • Saturdays: One to two Saturdays per month for rehearsals, volunteer workshops, or production preparation, scheduled in advance.

  • Special Events: Required as needed, with advance notice provided whenever possible.

  • Additional hours may be scheduled based on production needs and special events; all hours worked are compensated.
